Illegal Workers
Employers Who Hire Illegal Workers Hurt Local Workers and Consumers
As Hawaii's economy slows, a large percentage of the skilled workers in the state's construction industry have lost their jobs. At the same time, a disturbing number of illegal immigrants have been brought to Hawaii to work in the building trades. This practice of hiring illegal aliens, instead of skilled workers in Hawaii's construction trades, poses a real threat to consumers and Hawaii workers and their families, as well as to our economy. And it puts companies who play by the rules at a disadvantage.
